View Full Version : Log in as administrator

I have a user account with Administrator Rights. I have
been contacting Creatives tech support and they have sent
me a patch to install. They say I must log in as the
Administrator and not a User with administrative abilities.

So, how to I log in as administrator. The only time I've
ever seen it as an option is when in Safe Mode.

thanks

you can login as the admin only in safe mode, however, you can login as a
member of the local admin group - just add your account to the
Administrators group using the Users and Groups tool in the Control Panel

I have been noticing the same problems with my system,
but are at a different level. I have already added my
user as part of the administrator group and have even
edited the user permissions in the registry at every HKEY
level, but i still get access denied issues and "you
don't have administrator access" error messages when I
try to install patches or even install Outlook. Is this
a big time XP bug or what???
