I would like to set a view type and have the computer come
back to that view type next time I open that file.

My computer goes to what ever it wants to (Mostly tile)
when I reopen a file.

I like two types of views.
Thmbnails for photes and details for every thing else.

I have been told that this is a problem with xp and MS has
a fix for it.
I have searched for the fix and can not find it.
I understand it requires a registry setting.

I am not sure I can, or know how to come back to this
group so I would appreciate you sending an answere to me,
if you have one , via email at

Thanks.

See http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and look at line 2, left
column (Increase Folder View Size Limit). This REG file will increase the
number of folder views that XP remembers to 8000. To use the REG file,
download it to your hard drive and double click it. Answer yes to the
import prompt. REG files can be opened and viewed in Notepad.
