Sharing Program Files Folder?

Here in our office we run various programs from our
server computer. Most of the programs we run are
installed into the "Program Files" folder. With Win 98
we had no probems. Now with XP, I cannot set this folder
for Sharing. Tells me options are disabled for this
folder because it is used by the operating system.
Is there a way to override this and setup the "Program
Files" folder for sharing on the network?
