i can't get my adobe reader to work on XP. After
installing 5.0.5, I get a msg saying that the document
cannot be opened. Unable to create temporary file. does
anyone know why this happens?

I don't know for sure, but here's a thought for you: The current version =
of Acrobat Reader is 6.0. Possibly the document you're trying to open =
was written with 6.0 and is not compatible with your older version.

Can't help with the reason - might be that doc was created on a later
version of acrobat reader than you have installed - but could suggest D/Ling
version 6 - it works very well with XP.
It'll be backward compatible with your older pdf's too.

Hope this helps
