my drive will not convert to ntfs can anybody help please?

are you using xp pro or home?

home doesn't support ntfs

What do you mean XP Home doesn't support NTFS.. Do be so silly! unless you
meaning of Support is different than everyone else.

XP Home can use NTFS just fine.

Can you supply any documentation to show why you can't convert to NTFS?

i have tried converting following the windows help
page.open command prompt...inthe command prompt window
type.....convert drive C:/fs:ntfs ....and it won't
work,any idea's why..

Sorry I didn't think it could use NTFS filesystem. I thought, that being a
stripped down version of Pro (if you like) it didn't support NTFS at all,
however, I now fnd that it only supports simple file sharing.

converting to "ntfs" i am really gratefull for the info
