can't get rid of a virus

Norton has recognized that I am infected with
w32.valla.2048 It says that all files are repaired.
When I start up the computer the next day. Norton finds
the virus again. It doesn't seem to get rid of the
virus. Can anyone help?

Where is the virus located?
Is it in system Volume Information?
If so:
Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes all Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.
