I just downloaded the latest security update for XP, and
now neither my norton antivirus nor firewall will load
completely nor run. any ideas? I've tried all the
symantec suggested stuff. I would like to unload the
security update, but I don't even know how to do that!

Lesley;
Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and look for the
update.
You could uninstall Norton, reboot, then reinstall.
Norton should have been disabled during updates.

Had same problem. Norton sent me a link to fix. Will post
it here if you will advise me how to get my email here. I
do not know how to cut and paste if that is something I
would need to do.

Cut and paste works in emails and url's the same way it
works in your word processor. Just highlight what you
want to cut or copy, then put the cursor on the
highlighted text and push the right button on your mouse
(not the left button, the right button) you'll get a short
menu pop up that gives you cut, copy, paste options.
Works the same way to drop it where ever you want it, just
put the cursor where you want it and hit that right button
again to get the paste option.
