i've had broadband for nearly a year now, but, of late i
have hed a lot of attacks against my pc ( i use norton
firewall )norton reports that most of these attacks are
coming from the same ip address 172.188.64.17.
is this somthing i should be worried about ?
am i being attacked ? or is this a friendly site reported
wrongly ?
if it is an attack can i report it to someone and get
this gateway stop, or the user shut down ?
any help would be apreciated

Richard it looks like that IP address belongs to AOL. I can't tell if it is
something you should be worried about or not based on your post this maybe a
friendly program running on your system that is connecting to this address.
If they are probes or something like that coming from the address you could
try e-mailing . However, I have no clue how responsive they
