From what I've gathered so far after reading through all
the smart a$$ remarks XP home Ed. does not have the means
to logon to a domain.
Well silly me bought a laptop that came with a XP Home
ED. brought to the office and said connect to the domain
and well you all know the rest.
Does XP Pro support connecting to a domain? If so are
there any gottchas?
Can XP Home Ed. be upgraded to Pro
thank you

Yep it can connect. Not sure what you mean by a gotcha - it can participate
fully in a domain the same as windows NT 4 workstation and Windows 2000
professional.
XP Home can be upgraded to Pro, personally however I always do clean
installs, but thats just me.

John,
Yes, you can seemlessly upgrade Home to Professional. Professional
completely supports being in a domain environment and being joined to a DC.
Not sure what you mean by gotchas.
Hope this helps.
Thx,
Nico
