Still need help with CD-RW shortcut

In an earlier post, MS-MVP Kelly said that my problem is
caused by "a bug in a current update that prevents the
shortcuts to CD drives from functioning properly." I can
no longer directly send files to by CD-RW drive in XP.
This is a pain. Is a fix available or coming soon? I
would like to be able to resume sending files directly to
the drive. Now, I must go through third-party programs.
This function used to work well.

This can only be done if you have packet writing software such as Easy CD
Creator's Direct CD or Nero's InCD installed. Since you imply this was a
function you were able to use before on this system, you probably have some
packet writing software installed. If that's the case, you probably need to
reinstall that software.
