wordperfect10 - not responding

I have a new HP computer... with windows XP. I have no trouble printing
anything....EXCEPT Word documents. When I try to print... the hour glass
comes out and just stays there. I can't click on anything at this point,
and the printer never shows any sign of life. If I hit cntrl/alt/delete it
says that Word Perfect 10 is "not responding".
Any suggestions??
