Hi,

I'm running a P4 TOSHIBA laptop. I wish to backup some data to cdr but
there's one thing I'm concerned about .. My screen saver switches on after a
few minutes an I'm affraid that this will screw up the cdr burning process.
I was told that as little desktop "activity" should be done while recording
cdr's and I'm wondering if I should turn the screen saver off ? At the same
time I don't want my screen to be on the whole time and have problems with
it later. How do I do both ? Can I just turn the screen off while burning
the cdr ? What advice would you give ? Thanks again. ---Daniel

It is unlikely that the screensaver will cause you a problem.

If this is a real concern, extend the delay time for Screen Saver to start
up past the average time it takes your system to create a CD; it can always
be reduced later. It takes roughly 20 minutes to burn a CD to capacity at
4x--at least with HP RecordNow. FWIW, I have my Saver set to start at 15
minutes and have not, to date, had a start of it while doing a "burn."

Turn off the screen saver.
