Windows explorer consistantly shuts down and restarts.
When I go to the Event viewer this is the message: The
shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted.

so
I then click on the 'more info' link and this is what
THAT says: Details
Product: Windows Operating System
ID: 1002
Source: Winlogon
Version: 5.0
Component: Application Event Log
Symbolic Name: EVENT_MANDATORY_PROFILE
Message: The profile for user %1 is mandatory.

Explanation
This event record indicates that the user has been
assigned a mandatory profile. The user can change
environment settings during a logon session; however,
these changes are not saved in the profile at the end of
the session.

I have tried all the normal avenues for help.

I dont know how to be more spacific then this.
Please help

Hi Orion,

Try this: Control Panel/Folder Options/View tab, enable the line to launch
folder windows in a separate process.

Same thing here. Defragging your harddrive(s) may cut down the frequency
that it happens.
