View Full Version : Another win7 NG

Hi, All.
My ISP's news server has just added a new Win7 NG:
alt.nl.os.windows.windows7
That probably won't be of interest unless you read Dutch. (I don't. I'm a
typical mono-lingual American. :>( )
That NG apparently has no new or old messages this morning - but it seems
that my Windows Live Mail is getting very little traffic today. Only a
couple of emails and I haven't seen any new (10/26/09) NG posts yet.

I found this one too.
microsoft.public.it.windows7
It showed no messages for a couple days, so I tried sending a test to it. It
showed up right away. Don't know how many news feeds carry it yet.

Hi, Alex.
There have been only two Win7 NGs on the Microsoft public news server for a
few months, both in the Italian (.it.) language. But the "Newsgroups"
listing doesn't show them today, even when I Reset List. Maybe that means
that Microsoft has killed them. :>(
When did you post there and see your message? Were you on the MS server, or
one that mirrors all or some of the groups?

I am not sure how I get to it. It showed up in a search of available groups
from my ISP feed so I subscribed to it. I just ran the test at 7:45 am. The
post showed up in a few seconds and is still the only one showing there.

Well as a test I just tried responding to a post here and cross posting to
microsoft.public.it.windows7,alt.windows7.genera and it does not show up
there. Then I tried doing a test at
microsoft.public.it.windows7,alt.windows7.genera
and cross posting that here and both show up in both groups. I don't know
enough about how this works to have any idea what this means.

Shouldn't that last one be alt.windows7.general
