Every time I start Firefox I get one of those annoying UAC messages
asking if I want Java runtime to "change my computer" or some-such.
Well, yes, I do.

But I can't find a way of allowing specific programs on a permanent
basis - can anybody help?

On the same subject; when UAC dims the screen and puts up the Java
message a small toolbar appears top right offering "correction". Don't
like to mess with this until I know what it might correct...any info please?

Thanks Dave - sadly this doesn't work for me. I'm already set up to NOT
run Firefox as administrator. I'll keep looking...

I saw that language toolbar bar during a UAC prompt for the first time
today on a friend's computer.
It was because there were two keyboards installed, a UK one and a US one.
I removed the US keyboard and no more language bar pop-ups.
Control Panel > Clock, Language and Region > Region and Language.
Click on the Keyboards and Languages tab.
Click on 'Change keyboards... '.
Remove the extra keyboards you don't use to leave just one.
( If you do use other languages then leave it alone.)
