Just ordered the book from Amazon on Sunday. It shipped yesterday and
was in my mailbox today. OK, it shipped from Phoenix and I'm in Florence
, AZ, but that's still pretty fast. I took the free shipping option and
it wasn't supposed to be here until the 20th.

Over 900 pages and a CD with the full book in digital format along with
some other help files. Total cost was $31.49 and that will take care of
my winter reading. :-)

I ordered the same book from Amazon yesterday, but I don't think I will be
so lucky. This afternoon when I checked the status of my order it read:
"Item shipping soon. Shipping estimate November 23"
That makes it sound like they aren't even going to get around to mailing it
until next Monday!

Rip-off Britain strikes again. RRP = £39 - that's about US$64 at current
exchange rates....

You should invest in Amazon Prime if you order much from them. It's
$79/year, and anything that's eligible (like this book) ships 2nd day air at
no charge. If you order 4 or 5 items a year from Amazon, it's worth it.
Plus, you can add up to 4 "household" members to the subscription and they
can share the cost. Check it out.

Ordered much stuff from Amazon.com and even with the postage it usually
comes out cheaper than Amazon.co.uk - try it and see.

This was recently posted as an e-book to
alt.binaries.e-book.technical.
The same newsgroup has also received other Windows 7 publications.

It was posted on 9/9/09. Just download a limited number of headers until it
shows. Here's the header title:

Ebooks Collection over 800+ English by Jamvan01 m-zl[340/387] - "Windows 7
Step by Step Chapter 1 Explore Windows 7 - ebooks - bookzone.zip" yEnc

yEnc turn up everywhere, posting cracks and dodgy stuff, I wouldn't trust
him/her for one nano-second.

Um, yEnc isn't a poster. yEnc is a file encoding format. :-)

But the poster in question is clearly Jamvan01.

Okedoke, I stand corrected, let me say that again:
'yENC file encoding format' turns up everywhere (in newsgroups), suggesting
the reader downloads all sort of dodgy stuff.

I have a Camellia japonica in my garden, I wonder if you are related :-)

For Genou's benefit, I'll mention that Camellia sinensis is the plant
from which tea (all kinds of tea) is made from its leaves. Note his
e-mail address:

Camellia japonica is a plant in the same genus, but it's a different
species. It is grown primarily for its flowers
