I have just upgraded to Win 7. About three times a week, I return to my
computer and find it has shut down. It takes a long time to boot up after
this and I get a message "searching for a solution, but no answers given.
Anyone else had this problem?
Thanks

1) Change your Startup and Recovery settings so your computer doesn't
automatically restart in the event of a catastrophic error. What's on
the screen after such an event can be very revealing. Right-Click on
My Computer... Advanced system settings... Startup and recovery...
Uncheck 'Automatically restart'.
2) Go into; Control Panel... System & Security... Administrative
Tools... Select 'View event logs'. There's a wealth of information
there that can lead you to the source of the problem.

Have a look here:
Control Panel
System and Security
Action Center
Maintenance > drop down menu > View Reliability history.
Select to view by Days and click on an item to view details.
There may be something listed there that will be a clue.
