Anybody know what could be causing this? and it's not
really a n00b question either i think it'd stump a fair few
people!
I can't telnet, email, ftp, use IE for http or even run
comms software I've written. BUT.. I CAN run Netscape
(thank god!), I've tried re-installing XP too and tried
TCP/IP reset, I've gone through everything with my ISP and
scanned the HD for errors too.
Also, it's possible for me to receive windows messenger NET
SEND spam messages (the service was restarted since the
reinstall of XP, i'll turn it off later!), so..
Why have I got the ability to receive windows messenger
spam and use Netscape but almost everything that relies on
the winsock APIs/architecture doesn't work, despite
checking with chkdsk, using my OEM's disk checking utility,
a re-install and the SP1 upgrade?
Any help would be really appreciated! (obviously!!) :)
