Time but no date

Using Thunderbird 3.1.7 and Win7 32bit I have recently found that some
of the messages I am seeing for this newsgroup are shown with a time but
no date. I even found this applied to a posting of my own. Is there a
way of reverting to the use of both date and time by default?

I use TB for mail only. For that, it only shows the time for the current

day and date/time for yesterday and earlier. That may be what you are
seeing.

TB has its own newsgroup at news.mozilla.org should you be interested.

Those are today's messages. No date implies "today".

Settings like that are often in the about:config file, which is huge and
perhaps not fully documented.

Try at the Thunderbird forums or Thunderbird Help, or even just browse
through Thunderbird's settings or through the above-mentioned
about:config file.

(This is a Windows 7 newsgroup, and that is not a Windows 7 issue.)

But dear sir, I would have thought that you would by now have realized
that a time stamp without a date means "today"! What could be simpler
and more practical than that?

BTW are you, sir, by any chance one of those who only do it in the
missionary position? ;-)

AFAIK, you get time when the date equals today's date. You might
want to ask in a Thunderbird forum how to change it.

If all you're seeing is just the time, then that implies today's date.
If you want to alter that behavior, see this article:
