associating a program

I have associated notepad with a .php extension. The
only problem I have, is that I mistakenly checked the box
that says. use this program for all files of this type.
How do I revert to being prompted to open a program?

Try this:
Right click the file '.
Choose 'open with'. Click 'choose program'
Click the program in the menu window that you really want to use.
Check 'always use etc.' if required now.
