my e-machine with Windows XP Home edition had a power
interruption & now we get a message indicating a stop
error "unmountable_boot_volume". I followed the
instructions in 310994 to set up Windows XP & also for the
recovery console repair. I tried to have the computer
reboot after giving the command to "fixboot" and/or "fix
mbr", but the stop error reappears. My last ditch effort
will be to try a CD Restore, but I know all my files will
be lost. Any suggestions either for fixing the problem or
for downloading my existing files without losing them in
the restore?
