View Full Version : Screen Recorder Problem

November 26th 12, 03:18 PM
I want to try screen recording in W8, using two recorders that worked
just fine in XP and W7. Both work, but the avi products have the
same problem - the audio is very outofsync with the video. Like some
2-5 seconds!

Anyone recommend a screen recorder that will work with W8?

Thanks

Tell me if I am wrong, but I don't think Splash does 'screen capture'.
I tried it, but I don't see it.

What's important is, whether the lack of synchronization shows
a time-varying delta between video and audio. Or a fixed
relationship. There are movie problems where the sound sample
rate "drifts" during capture, such that simple correction
operations won't fix it.

You could try opening the movie in a movie editor, then
"slide" the audio track until it roughly aligns with the video.
But then, you need to go to the end of the clip and play the
last ten seconds, and see if it's aligned there as well.
If the synchronization varies from end to end, then
no simple "sliding" will fix it.

If re-aligning and writing out the video fixes it,
then you have a workaround at least. And if a standard
movie editor doesn't have the output options you want,
there's probably a tool specifically for working with AVI
containers.
