Is there any way to delete and save some of the icons that show up on
my Start screen? I would like to get rid of some of these and hope to
get the ones I use arranged such that I don't have to scroll to the
right to see them. But if I simply delete some of these icons then
discover that I really do want/need them, how could I retreive them?

Thanks, Gordon

Simply right click somewhere on the Start screen and then select all Apps.

One doesn't really delete anything from the Start Screen
- One pins and unpins an item since the file for the pin/unpinned items actually reside elsewhere.

If the program is Msft app or installed app one can usually restore the item to the Start Screen by accessing the All Apps
menu....as long as the program abides by Win8's method of creating groups or start screen items.

If you need to 'delete' then one must delete the item from the file location that holds the item. One can find the 'File location'
for an item on the start screen by rt. clicking and choosing 'Open File Location'
