In Windows 3.1 you could put programs into groups. In
95,98,98SE,& ME I did not have that many programs now in
XP Home I have amassed so many that some do not show up
at all.Is there some method of putting like programs in a
group
Thank you

Yes. Start by creating a folder tree in All Users.
Start Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs. This is one of the folders, when combined with
Default User and XXXXX (where XXXXX is a particular user logged on the
system) gives the listing in Programs off the Start button.
Create folders for groups of programs such as Utilities, Word Processors,
Graphics, etc. Right click on a folder and drag it to one of the pre-made
folder groups. When you let go of the right mouse button, left click on
Move. Do this for as many folders as desired. Make sure to do the same
folder structure in Default User (if there are any programs listed there)
and XXXXX (again, if there are any programs listed there).
You can also drag and drop from the programs menu once the folder structure
is created.

Hello Robert-
Right-mouse click on the Start Menu and choose Explore All Users. This will open the Start menu in Windows Explorer giving you the opportunity to relocate application shortcuts, create new groups, and generally rearrange things.

You only need to move the short cuts on the Start Menu. Just create folders
for the various program groups you wish to create on the Start Menu and move
the short cuts you wish to be placed in these groups into the various
folders you've designated as such.
