Is there a MSCONFIG replacement that will allow sorting and or
searching of all panes on a tab so I can find stuff especially in the
Services and Startup tabs?

What a great idea. While the author is at it, he can make the screen
maximizable. Apparently no one cares that it was that way in win98,
and when maximized, you coudld read all the columns without constant
moving of column borders.

Try https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx .
I don't remember it being formatted in a way that reminded me of
msconfig, but my memory's not good.
