Ant[_2_]

Hello.

I cannot seem to lock my Windows XP Pro SP3 machine with its WinKey+L
and its screen savers. How come?

Thank you in advance. :)

That was my first thought too. :-)

But there are more:

The key combination has been disabled in the registry (workstation related).

An AV product interferes with its working (quaraintened items).

.... Thats just two others I found within a minute or two googleling for it.
:-)

I don't run an AV residence software. Where in registry?

Ant,

What about learning how to google yourself ? :-|

I literally took the three words making up your problem (XPsp3 WinKey+L
registry), stuck them into google and (re-)found several websites about it
on the first result page.

By the way, the keyname I found was/is is "DisableLockWorkstation", but I
would not be surprised if there would be more ...

Also, try replacing, in the above search action, "registry" with "doesn't
lock" (that second part with or without the double quotes) and see if any of
the results give you a bit more info than we already offered you.

Well, here is what I noticed. Sometimes it works and sometimes it
doesn't work. I can't figure out why. It is also not winkey+L. Also,
screen savers don't lock it sometimes. Sometimes the reboot fixes it.
