Open the Services window (services.msc).

Click Stop to close the service.
Select Disabled from the Startup type list to prevent it
from loading automatically the next time Windows starts.
Close the Services window when you're done

Read my post above.
What you suggest is not a fix because it covers the symptom and leaves
the computer vulnerable.

Given the number of pseudonyms posting exactly the same "solution" of
disabling the service (and thus leaving the computer exploitable), I wonder
once again if these posts are from people with ulterior motives - people who
might want users' firewalls to remain wide open and allow in NetBIOS and RPC
messages.
