I had shutdown my computer correctly yesterday, but today
when i start it, it gives error that the following file
is missing i.e.c:\windows\system32\config\system and
suggest to repair it by setup cd.

Now when i tried to repair it by using the repair option
from setup cdrom, it do nothing and ask to select the
windows on which i want to logon i.e. 1: c:\windows

when i press 1, it just go on the prompt and show
c:\windows.

how can i rectify the problem because i have only one
partition on my harddrive and the data on it is very
important
