Hi All,

xp-pro-sp3-x32

Why when I partition a drive do I get the same UUID for all the
partition? I have duplicated this with two and five partitions.

mountvol
....
\\?\Volume{a183ac13-9d8a-11e6-a3bc-003048bd4062}\
*** NO MOUNT POINTS ***

\\?\Volume{a183ac15-9d8a-11e6-a3bc-003048bd4062}\
*** NO MOUNT POINTS ***

AAAAHHHHH !!!!!!

How do I modify a partition's UUID, other than from a Linux
Live CD.

Many thanks,
-T

T,

I'm not sure you are aware of it, but those UUIDs are *not* the same, the
last digit of the first parts differ: a 3 and a 5. Maybe the problem lies
elsewhere ?

Well on the bright side, I figured out how to change a
partitions UUID:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices

change the label name and reboot

And MountVol wants the backslash in the drive name where W7 does not
