Long ago for reasons I now forget I added a turn-on password to my XP
netbook. Now I'd like to get rid of it so the system boots and runs
normally without entering a password. How can I do this? (I know the
password, I just hate the bother of entering it.)

TIA

You know it's time to clean the refrigerator
when something closes the door from the inside.

Ken,

a "turn-on password" ? That sounds like you mean the BIOS based one. For
that you possibly need to press DEL at (cold) boot (might be another key,
depending on the manufacturer of that BIOS*), and find the apropriate item
in one of its tabbed pages.

*Best take a peek in the booklet that came with the netbook.
