There is no "Exit to DOS" in XP. There is no DOS in XP. There is a DOS
emulator that can be accessed at Start, All Programs, Accessories, Command
Prompt.

XP does not have a DOS mode. You can place a shortcut on
your desktop to the command line window.
On the desktop, right click and select NEW/create shortcut.
This is the target
" %SystemRoot%\system32\cmd.exe "

Thanks

It worked.

I lost this icon on my desktop as well as my 'programs' folder. In
fact, I also lost my shortcuts to Netscape, and a few others. So
somehow my desktop was mucked up terribly. No idea how or why.

Thanks again
