Attachments in Outlook

I am unable to open some (I have no problem opening the ones that use =
Quick time) attachments in my Outlook e-mail.
I am running Windows XP Pro and am a "newbie" with Outlook.
The attachment symbol is with the message on arrival
when I click on the attachment symbol it opens a new window for the =
message but there is no attachment icon to click on and no further =
message
do I have to set something to allow this to come through or is it the =
folks sending me the attachment...I trust them with the sending of =
attachments to me. They have passed through my Norton AntiVirus okay.

I will answer my own question with one solution.
I have added a folder(attachments) in Outlook
When I get a message with attachment I move it to this folder
then...I go to OE and under file I go to import and list Microsoft =
Outlook and import the message from the attachments folder.
It will now open in OE...hallelujah
There must be a simpler way!
Any help here.

thanks Steve for sending me to another way to do things...since I am a =
rank beginner I do not consider that "my fixes" are always best for =
others...j just that there may be more than one way to skin a cat...and =
sometimes just as easy.
Some of the folks may just be as skittish as myself where the registry =
is concerned.
