View Full Version : Thanks HTG - No more search icon

How-to-geek just recently came out with 2 hacks to the registry to remove the search icon and the taskview icons from
the taskbar in Win10TP.

Works like a charm. And with classic shell, hell it's so much cleaner. Now if I could just get it faster!

Win 10 is no different from previous versions of Windows in that respect.

All you need to do in advanced settings is "set for best performance".

Brilliant, they've annoyed me from the first time I saw them. It looks
so much better without them.

HUH? What are you talking about. I wasn't saying anything about "best performance". I'm talking about getting rid
of the search icon and the taskview icons on the taskbar. Just beside the menu button.

Maybe he was responding to your last sentence: "Now if I could just get
it faster!".

You could've fooled me...

I guess so, but that was not my thought. It's slow. Changing performance I've done and it's still sluggish. But then
maybe I didn't change enough.
Still I guess my bad!.

OTOH, I really do wish you luck in solving that. I know it's a PITA.
