Those are horrible looking!
I would be embarrassed to have someone see them on my machines.

Maybe they consume less resources or are more easy viewed on toy mobile
computers. They look to be bigger icons for viewing on tiny screens.

Well to be fair they are quite a good match with Microsoft's new icons
in Windows 8. Trouble for me is that it takea my brain a hell of a lot
longer to find a specific icon, inside a large quantity, when they are
all the same color(s). My brain works wonderfully fast when all the
icons are true color - not so well when icons are single color pictograms...
