Poop!

Disk Clean up is missing "Previous Windows Installations"

http://www.bleepstatic.com/tutorials/windows/delete-windows-old/disk-cleanup-with-system-files.jpg

I can always boot the disk with a Fedora Live CD and take out the
offending directories manually (windows.old and .windows.~bt).

On my Disk Cleanup screen, there's a button near the bottom labeled "Clean
up system files." That will take care of the windows.old and other files
left over from the upgrade. Mine doesn't have the "Previous Windows
installation(s)" check box.

Hi Tom,

Does the "SC" stand for South Carolina?

I have "Clean up system files". Does not work for my windows.old
or .windows.~bt.

What is unclean is if that is the way it is suppose to be or
if it is the nature of the Alpha code I am running (build 9926).

Hmmmmmm......

Also, after the reinstall Bit Defender just dies when I try to
install it. Hmmmmmmm x2

Yep, South Carolina.

Don't know why it wouldn't work for you- that's how I got rid of windows.old
(same build here- 9926).

I run AVG Free 2015 with no problems, so I can't guess on Bit Defender. Did
you right-click on the executable and "Run as admin"? I've had to do that on
some installations even though I AM admin.

Hi Tom,

Huh, Yesterday I just ran it as a regular use. Today, I got it
to work by "Run as admin" as you suggested, Thank you!

You're *an* administrator, not th *the* Administrator - those are not
the same thing.

But the "run as administrator" refers to the permissions the *program*
has, which are different from you the user...
