I was using Win 10 yesterday and wanted a hard copy of a webpage but
realized I had not Installed a driver for my Okidata c5150n Color Laser
printer, So I downloaded the latest Windows 8 driver and installed it.
Unfortunately Win 10 failed to detect the the printer and it did not
show up in Devices and printers.
On a hunch I checked and found the drivers and all files had installed
OK, I then looked and found 2 .inf files in the bunch that had "install"
in the right click options, both 32 and 64 bit, I hit install for both
files and 1 returned an Installed OK dialog.
I then checked the Devises and printers page in control panel and found
the printer was now listed and had a default check mark.
Sent a couple pages to the printer and everything worked fine which I
was happy to see as I really love this Color Laser, Seven years and not
an Iota of trouble , am on my 2nd set of 5000 page toner carts.

Second good thing that happened was that when I set up my wireless
adapter I set it up to use the 5G band instead of the 2.4G band which I
was using on my Win 8.1 system, Well after doing tests on both I found
that the 5G system was running over twice the speed of my 2.4G win 8.1
setup, so I promptly switched it over to 5G also.

Hope this info helps someone with printer install problems without new
Win 10 drivers.

Best regards Rene

Yes, But I think it will be up to Okidata to update their drivers, but
its a little too early to expect them to do so yet.
