View Full Version : Swap file problems

After a crash during upgrading to latest service pack (XP
Pro Swedish) on my Dell laptop, the system wouldn't start
but ended up with a blue screen.
I did a repair install from the original CD, and after
that it will go forther in the boot process, but stops
with a notice flashing by about "Not enough virtual memory
or swap file quota".

I then started up with the recovery console, and managed
to delete the swap file, believing that XP should set up a
new correct one. Well, it didn't. So, here I am, with a
laptop that constantly reboots.

Any idea anyone? Please? I MUST get hold of the info on
the PC!!

Thanks, but unfortunately not... since Windows reboots
before it has started. It's a catch 22 situation... Any
idea on how to get past this, by getting Windows to
disregard from the swap file?

Can you boot it into Safe Mode?

You can change the virtual memory settings from there.

Good luck
