Windows fails to start
Message reads
Windows could not start because the following file is
missing or corrupt
<windows root>\system32|ntoskrnl.exe
Please re-install or copy the above file.
Have copied the file but no results

Boot from your XP cd, and make your way to the recovery console.
From there, type this:
cd system32\config
ren system system.old
ren system.alt systemalt.old
copy c:\windows\repair\system
copy c:\windows\repair\regback\system
exit
Reboot, and all should be well again. Please post back if you still have
problems.
