problem downloading patch

while trying to download the ms patch for the Blaster
virus I got most of the way through the download, but
during the final installation process got a problem
screen saying :"make sure cryptographic service is
running". I don't understand what this means or what to
do to finish my download of the patch. please explain.

In the control panel, Administrative tools, Component Services, services (local),
scroll down to Cryptographic Services, double-click, change to Automatic.

Nope...I've had the same error message. Not only is that a
problem, but my new computer with XP won't let me go
directly to the live online Windows Update. I've cleared
the files they suggest (deleting the Active X files), and
now it is telling me I'm not the administrator, and I'm
the ONLY user (with administrator priv.)...pulling out my
hair!
