edit locked

I cannot edit any of my files as they have become locked.
The message displayed is 'document is locked for edit'

what do i do, or what have i done?

What program are you using to make the edit?

Without more details from you, about all I can do is point you to Google. I
got 15 hits on the phrase "document is locked for edit". I suspect you
would get more help if you posted this question to a Word newsgroup.
