Can someone clarify for me which operating systems are
NT. I always thought that Windows NT and Windows 2000
were NT driven and that Windows XP was not.

No, that's not correct. All XP versions are NT-based. Note that
names like 2000 and XP are just marketing names. Under the hood,
Windows 2000 is really NT 5.0, and XP is NT 5.1.
