Outlook express

I originally had windows 98 and recently upgraded to
windows XP. I opened outlook express and my e-mails were
gone. Is there away I can retreive my e-mails?

Hi Eric,

How did you do the installation of Windows XP? Did you format your hard
drive and install from there, or did you upgrade your Win98 installation to
WinXP? if you did a format, then your e-mail is gone. If you did an
upgrade, then the files are still on your hard drive, but may be hidden in
the old location they were stored in. If so, do a search on your driver in
the C:\Windows folder for the Outlook Express folder. Your old e-mail will
be stored in here. Hope this helps....

I have done some research reguarding .dbx and .wab files
and had no results. I installed over windows 98. I also
tried to do a seach for "Folders.dbx" supposedly the
master index for the entire store. I also tried to look
for the folders.nch folder. No results!
PS: I unhide my files under the folders opotions prior to
seaches.
