So how do I fix the problem? I have Norton progam and
update whenever it tells me. My computer keeps shutting
down with the RPC note. Thanks for your help

Install:

As soon as you can! You are running the 32-bit version

Also enable Windows XP's built in firewall:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;283673

Then go to WindowsUpdate to pick up the latest updates:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
