OK so my friends computer crashed and on attempt to boot an error
message is recevied Fatal Error ie blue screeen of death. She
attempted to boot from her Windows XP home edition recovery disk, but
in order to fix the corrupted files she needs to put in her admin.
password which she dones't remember thanks to autologin. She never
setup any other user accounts. She is currently in the recovery
console, but not logged in without the admin password. Is there any
way to fix this..... Main concern save the data files from the
computer

thanks
Mike

Mike;
Run a Repair installation instead.
No need for Recovery Console:
