My home laptop has XP Home. When the Welcome screen is
up I can choose from 4 user accounts; however, no matter
the user id, after selecting, it starts to log in and
then immediately logs off, thus returning to the Welcome
screen.
I've tried safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe
mode with command prompt. It does not matter mode or
user id.
Most fixes I have seen posted require that you get into
the Administrator account to change user settings,
registry settings etc... This would work, if I could get
into the Administrator account.
At best, it appears that the only solution to date is to
reformat and start over. THERE MUST BE A BETTER WAY.
