Please help

I have XP Pro and I formated one of the partitions and
reinstalled the xp but I had my other files on the
separate partition and know everything works fine but I
can't access the files on the second partition. I think it
might be because I had file security enabled on old
system. Question is it possible to access my files on the
old partition ?
