I ran the fix for the worm virus and still having the problem with the shut
down. I cant stay online long enough to down load the security patch. Also
my Norton virus checker is now screwed up. It wont let me enable the auto
protect. When they catch these hackers they should cut there balls off and
shove them down there throat!

This will get you going long enough to to download the fix from
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FixBlast.exe

1. Click Start, and then click Run. (The Run dialog box appears.)
2. Type regedit
3. Then click OK. (The Registry Editor opens.)
4. Navigate to the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run

In the right pane, delete the value:
"windows auto update"="msblast.exe"

5. Exit the Registry Editor.

and then

1. To end the Trojan process:
2. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete once.
3. Click Task Manager.
4. Click the Processes tab.
5. Double-click the Image Name column header to alphabetically sort the
processes.
6. Scroll through the list and look for msblast.exe.
7. If you find the file, click it, and then click End Process.
8. Exit the Task Manager.

Good Luck

I don't know about you, but I'm making a killing fixing these problems ;-)

"That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger." - Mr. Zorg of Zorg

These hacker idiots are only making Microsoft stronger by constantly
hammering on their products. If they really wanted to cause problems,
they'd be a lot more subtle about it and just degrade performance slightly
or intermittantly delete files etc.

If they had balls then they wouldn't be hiding in the shadows writing this
crap.

shut the process down first and then you will have all the time in the world
to fix your problem:

1. To end the Trojan process:
2. Press Ctrl+Alt+Esc once.
3. Click Task Manager.
4. Click the Processes tab.
5. Double-click the Image Name column header to alphabetically sort the
processes.
6. Scroll through the list and look for msblast.exe.
7. If you find the file, click it, and then click End Process.
8. Exit the Task Manager.

Now follow the advice above.

Just because your PC shuts down doesn't actually mean you have the virus.
Go to service and then find the RPC service. Open it and go to the recovery
tab and change all of the responses to Restart Service. This may allow you
enought time to get the fix from microsoft's website.
