Hi,
I like to download all sorts of programs from the
Internet and test them out. But after a wile I like to
format the C drive and start from squeaky-clean drive.
Must I register XP every time I do a reinstall when I'm
already registered?

You never need to register, not even once. If you mean activate, if you
format your system you will likely need to activate but, assuming no major
hardare changes, it should go as smoothly as the first time, nothing more
than a handshake between two computers over the Internet.

Use Drive Image after a clean install of OS, drivers etc. then you'll always
have a clean image to fall back on, saves a lot of work.
