When XP opens it lets me choose which user I want to
open. Since I no longer need one of the users how do I
delet the choices without loosing the data in the User I
am deleting

Control Panel, User Accounts, delete the user and tell it not to delete that
user's files. If you're running NTFS as your file system, you may need to
take ownership of that user's folders.
