XP service pack 2 ?????

I am tired of downloading 40+ updates EVEN after SP1 --- where is Windows
service pack 2 ????? - does anybody know WHEN that is comming out ??????

Yes, they actually are, probably more so than when trying to finish up
W2k3 server and get it shipped - there is a lot in the pipe right now.

It will be interesting to see if the 12 months between service pack or
rollups
does happen however, as that would put out an XP OS rollup fairly soon.

i share your opinion about the patches and suspect that sp2
will be released very shortly as indeed it does look really
bad with most of the items in add/remove being security
patches "trustworthy computing" anyone?

in regards to downloading lots of patches, there are ways
of just downloading once, saving the exe and deploying to
other computers without having to download many times. it
is a shame that microsoft has not made this feature more
obvious to the average user or offered and alternative
saveas download because even for a small network, keeping
pcs update takes up bandwidth.
